Teaching at art academy of latvia

NOW

Both co-founders of Fabula Collective are active educators at the Art Academy of Latvia — the leading design institution in Latvia. Their teaching practices reflect the collective’s broader interest in research-based, critical, and ecological approaches to design.

Rūta Jumīte teaches Design Research within the Graphic Design Department, guiding students toward more reflective and investigative design processes. Her courses emphasize understanding context, questioning conventions, and developing design as a method of inquiry. She also supervises several BA thesis students.

Tīna Alise Drupa teaches a Speculative Design course within the Functional Design Department, where students explore future-oriented and ecology-focused design methodologies. The course encourages experimentation with speculative tools and narrative-based thinking to imagine ecocentric futures.

Together, they also lead and organize the Multispaces Summer School, an interdisciplinary program connecting design, art, and ecology through collaborative and site-specific learning.
